Hi! I’m Mindy Yi, an artist and TV writer from Los Angeles!

SUPER ROOKIE started as an idea I had back in sophomore year of college about a magical girl anime set in America — a cross between Sailor Moon and Broad City, 20-something female superheroes navigating the life and death consequences of making rent, fighting monsters, and adulting for the very first time.

It sold as an animated TV project to YouTube Originals back in 2018 but alas, they stopped producing scripted content — so its rights were eventually returned to me. Even after all these years, this project, which was originally written as a half-hour script, really stuck with me. I felt strongly compelled to get its story out there, so here it is, as a webcomic!
